Rules
There will be three (3) finalists that compete to win the first prize, that being the production and merchandising of a product created from his/her original winning recipe and will receive a minimum of 10% royalties on all sales. Any and all of the top 100 contestants may/will be acknowledged on the website and featured in the show’s weekly programming. The second and third place winners may also be considered for bottling (along with the winner) but there is no guarantee.
THIS NEW CONTEST, SEASON 2, IS "PASTA SAUCE!"
The approximate retail value of all prizes combined is somewhere between $10,000 and $100,000.00 depending upon sales of bottled pasta sauce. No cash redemptions, transfers or substitutions of prizes allowed, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Each Winner is eligible to have only one (1) recipe submitted per season. All taxes, gratuities, and unspecified expenses are the sole responsibility of the winners. Contest is void where prohibited or otherwise restricted. All federal, state and local laws apply.
Home Cooking Star will only own the rights on manufactured sauces. Other recipes still belong to the owner and can be shared and reused as desired.
WHO CAN SUBMIT RECIPES?
Anyone in the world that is at least 18 years of age and who is not a graduate of a culinary program. You may be a cook, self-taught chef, in food services, or a caterer as long as you have not received a certificate after formal training. This preserves the intent of the contest - for the home cook. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Sponsor, its parent and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family and household members of each are ineligible to enter.

HOW WILL RECIPES BE JUDGED?
All recipe entries must meet the following criteria:
* Recipes must be creative
* Recipes will be judged based on taste
* Recipes should be able to be packaged and merchandised
* Must contain no more than 20 ingredients
* The recipe must be in the category of choice (season 2 is "pasta sauce"
* Must demonstrate a fan base of voters
The contest will be run based upon the following:
1. Recipe entry will occur until 150 recipe entries have been received. Once 150 recipes have been received entry will be closed.
2. Voting for the "best" recipe by the public will begin 3 days after recipe entry has been closed and continue until week 3. Public votes will be cumulative over the 3-week period and make up 50% of the total score. So, all contestants MUST generate a fan base to win (Season 1 was determined mostly by the fans).
3. Then, each Friday for 4 weeks, there will be an elimination based upon the following:
- 1. Week 1: the top 75 will advance based solely on public vote
- 2. Week 2: the top 25 will advance based upon the best Black Box Challenge (based upon photo analysis by our judges) and cumulative public votes
- 3. Week 3: top 10 will advance based upon our judging of contestant TV Commercials and cumulative public votes
- 4. Week 4: top 3 will advance into the finale tasting and the winner determined from this event
NOTIFICATION
All notifications are online in the company blog and in the contestant blogs. All ending times are midnight Friday (PDT) and announcement of eliminations by Monday will occur over the 4 week contest period.
USE OF DATA
Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy at www.homecookingstar.com. By participating in the Call for Recipes, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.
